READY TO OBSERVE?

Explore The Indiana Phenology Trail

--

Grab your hiking boots, water bottle, and cell phone for a citizen science day trip - or just your afternoon walk. Stroll along one of the Indiana Phenology Trail observation sites and see nature like never before while you help scientists gain a better understanding of our local ecosystems and the impact climate change is having on them.

WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PEOPLE

We engage Hoosiers of all ages in citizen science. In the classroom, at the park, and online, Indiana Phenology provides community education programs and workshops, helps parks and land trusts manage the ecosystems they care for, and empowers every Hoosier to make a real-world difference in scientific exploration.

VOLUNTEER IN YOUR BACKYARD

Ten minutes a week makes a huge difference, bringing us a better understanding of local ecosystems and climate.

Backyard Observers record their observations using a free mobile and web app called Nature's Notebook.

SCHOOLYARD PHENOLOGY

Scholars in K-12 classrooms are engaged in the real-world study of ecology and their environment, helping them understand the impact of climate change in their own backyards while developing critical thinking and observational skills.

PROTECTING PEOPLE AND PLACE

We believe Hoosiers are powerful.

We believe knowledge can stop climate change.

YOU CAN HELP policymakers, land managers, farmers, researchers, and public health experts make informed decisions and shape an even better future. Your donation supports classroom scholarships, trainings and workshops, and creating new observation sites across the state.
